Kati Perez
Kati grew up in the world of art, music, and dance. After high school, I attended ECU and received a degree in vocal performance and psychology. Stepping into jiu jitsu was unexpected as it was something so unfamiliar. After her oldest son began jiu jitsu she decided, with a lot of encouragement, to give the women’s class a try. Honestly, it was not something she loved at first. Jiu jitsu was something she was not naturally adept at and it pushed me far beyond her comfort zone. Kati is committed to sticking it out and seeing what she could achieve in this sport. Jiu jitsu is more than a sport. It has shown that she much stronger, mentally and physically, than Kati ever thought. It has taught her to be fluid, even when life is tossing her about. Kati is so proud of all growing she has done since beginning jiu jitsu and she can’t wait to see where she ends up. When Kati isn't at the gym, you can find her gardening, taking care of her animals, baking, reading, and being outside. Kati will try anything once, unless it involves heights. Kati is also a big fan of good food! Can’t wait to see you around the gym!
